At Parkhotel Rügen, hospitality meets culture. Guests not only enjoy relaxing days in the heart of the island, but also encounters with unique art. Sculptures by regional artists give the hotel and its grounds a special atmosphere – eye-catchers, inspiration, and conversation starters all at once.
Mirko Quade, born in Stralsund, is one of Rügen’s most renowned wood sculptors. He works with regional woods such as oak and walnut, shaping them with great sensitivity for form and expression. His sculptures are found all over the world – and right in front of our hotel you can see the impressive fisherman statue he created for Parkhotel Rügen.
The sculptures of Sam Bergwein add to the artistic character of our hotel with a very distinctive style. His works are marked by strong shapes and fine details, inviting you to pause and reflect. They blend harmoniously with the hotel’s atmosphere and give our guests the chance to experience art up close – not in a museum, but in the everyday moments of their stay.
Every artwork at Parkhotel Rügen tells a story. Sometimes they draw on the island’s maritime traditions, sometimes they reflect Rügen’s nature with its forests, sea, and animals, and sometimes they point to personalities and events connected to the region. Together, they create an open-air gallery inviting discovery – on a walk through the park, when entering the hotel, or simply from your window.
